Iron Broo recently played a ceilidh and disco for our wedding. Charlie was easy to deal and answered all our questions very quickly. Both the ceilidh and the disco were very well received with the guests of our wedding complementing the band and the music.

We booked Iron Broo for our wedding at Mar Lodge in Braemar in July and they were fantastic! We had a very international group with about half the guests having travelled from New Zealand and Charlie was great at calling the dances and everyone had a a lot of fun, even the teenagers loved it! We hired the Iron Broo duo for a charity ceilidh in February 2024 and they had everyone up on their feet until the very end! Thank you so much for a fantastic evening with your band - lots of classics and few special twists which made for a super fun evening. The Iron Broo Duo threw us a fantastic party to celebrate our wedding in September. They happily accommodated some very last minute changes and executed a little surprise absolutely perfectly! They had a great sense of humour when some of the dances didn't go to plan (no fault of the band, entirely the fault of the beer!) and soon had us back on track. A brilliant band to hire if you want to have lots and lots of fun!

The best Ceilidh band ever, our whole wedding was jumping from start to finish. My English relatives couldn't get enough of the dancing and were guided so well. Thoroughly recommend Charlie Abel and all of his brilliant 5 piece band.

We were lucky enough to have Iron Broo play for us at our wedding, where half the guests were Scottish and experienced ceilidh and reeling dancers and the other half were German and had no idea what was going on! The fact that Iron Broo got EVERYONE on the dance floor and partaking enthusiastically in both Scottish and German dances is a testament to their legendary music and DJ'ing! The evening simply wouldn't have been the same without them. Thank you so much Iron Broo for making our multi-national wedding such a cracking party!

We were finally able to hold a P7 Leavers' Ceilidh this year post covid. Iron Broo helped to make the evening for our pupils and family and great success. We were a little concerned as many of our pupils and their families had never been to a ceilidh. I need not have worried! The dance floor was full for every dance. Charlie explained the steps and the music was just first class!
A very special part of the evening was when the little kids asked for Musical Statues. Charlie and Fred obliged with an array of snappy tunes that got more than just the kids up dancing. Brilliant!

The only question is...when can we have our next Iron Broo ceilidh?? They have definitely hooked a new generation of ceilidh enthusiasts. Thank you Charlie and Fred! 💃🕺💃

Methlick Community Jubilee Family Ceilidh

What a night we had in June with the Iron Broo Ceilidh Band. From the minute they started until they stopped the dance floor was full of people dancing.

It was great have a range of ages. The night went in a flash and we all had the best time.

The band were excellent at explaining what to do for those never been to a ceilidh before and a good reminder for us that haven’t had our dancing shoes on for way to long.

Iron Broo played at our wedding and their ceilidh was amazing fun. It's the part of our special day I enjoyed the most! All the guests commented on how much they enjoyed it and how great their music was (including Charlie's beautiful singing voice). Some guests from England said that they now wanted to hire a ceilidh band for their own wedding. Charlie and Fred were super friendly and helpful as we had to reschedule a couple of times. They offered to play a French theme to honour my roots. I couldn't recommend them more, they're the best. Thank you so much!

Wonderful - first Ceilidh experience in Aberdeen with my family and in laws. We had so much fun and we danced all night with our baby and everyone. Wonderful people and amazing food :) Highly recommended

We had the Iron Broo Duo perform at our wedding and we thoroughly enjoyed them.
There was a good mixture of slow and fast dances and the disco option at the end was a good way for the guests to recover from the dancing.

Charlie and his band played at our wedding reception recently. Really nice guys, great music and they managed to persuade some pretty reluctant folk to get up and have a go. If you want a lively evening you can't go wrong with Iron Broo!

Iron Broo were fantastic! We had two members of Iron Broo play and call the dances at a small international event of tutors and students. There were around 20 of us and the band had such patience and provided us with so much fun. Everyone had a great time and I couldn't recommend them highly enough. I will use them again and again!

Iron Broo played for our wedding ceilidh and they were absolutely brilliant. Charlie and his band set up quietly and discreetly during the speeches and did a fabulous set.
The calling was needed as most of our guests weren't scottish and didn't know the dances.
i would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a good ceilidh band.
