“Everyone who came tonight had a fantastic time. You can’t beat a ceilidh in a wee hall for a friendly welcoming atmosphere. It’s a really great low-cost night out for anyone. Especially welcome at this time of year. Everyone is smiling.”
Charlie Abel (accordionist & band leader –Iron Broo)
The ceilidh at St. Margaret’s was the second performance for Iron Broo on this particular day having entertained an appreciative lunchtime crowd at the winter wonderland festival on Union Terrace. The next public ceilidhs from Iron Broo are being planned already.
We are on stage at 12.45 at the Winter wonderland in Union Terrace Gardens, Free entry. We’ll be playing tunes for 45 minutes till 1.30pm
Then at 7pm till 11pm we start our own Christmas Ceilidh and have a raffle for Charlie House children’s charity. Someone will win a fantastic prize at our ceilidh dance.
We would like to thank the The Devenick Dairy for supporting our raffle tomorrow night with a Christmas Hamper. ( I’m a big fan of their cheese cake.) They make some fantastic local cheese and being that it’s Christmas it really is the season for celebrating cheeses. All the proceeds from the raffle will be going to Charlie House children’s charity in Aberdeen. The Devenick Dairy have given us one of their ‘Big Beast’ Christmas hampers which will be the grand prize featuring in the raffle. A brilliant local company that we wish all the best for 2016.
We’d also like to say thanks to Aberdeen Makro for donating a bottle of Old Pulteney Scotch Malt Whisky -12 years old for our’ Whisky game which we also hope will bring in a few extra quid for Charlie House, take plenty £1 coins for the game. Notes are also accepted.

Doors open 6.30pm starting around 7pm. Finishing at 11pm.
