Aberdeen’s Iron Broo Ceilidh Band will be taking to the stage for a fantastic night of Scottish dancing, disco and Hollywood glamour – all to help raise funds for the refurbishment and reopening of the Belmont Cinema!
On Saturday 21 November 2026, we’ll be bringing our trademark lively Scottish ceilidh music to the Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel & Spa for a very special Oscars-themed fundraising celebration.
It’s a brilliant opportunity to enjoy a night out with friends while supporting one of Aberdeen’s best-loved cultural institutions.
A fantastic night of Scottish ceilidh dancing with Iron Broo!
If you’ve been to an Iron Broo ceilidh before, you’ll know what to expect – fantastic traditional Scottish music, plenty of laughs and a dance floor full of people having a wonderful time!
We’ve entertained guests at more than 1,000 weddings, performed at T in the Park eight times and played sell-out shows at Aberdeen’s Music Hall.
But whether you’re an experienced ceilidh dancer or have never danced a Gay Gordons in your life, everyone is welcome!
We’ll guide you through the dances, so you don’t need to know the steps. Just bring your dancing shoes and a sense of fun.
An Oscars-themed party for a great cause
The evening isn’t just about ceilidh dancing. The Belmont Cinema team has put together a fabulous programme of entertainment, including:
- Live Scottish ceilidh music with Iron Broo Ceilidh Band
- DJ-style disco entertainment
- Oscars-inspired Best Dressed Awards
- Red carpet photo opportunities
- A film-themed quiz
- Raffle and auction fundraising
- Welcome drink and supper included
It’s the perfect excuse to get dressed up, gather your friends and enjoy a great Aberdeen night out.
Supporting the return of the Belmont Cinema
For generations, the Belmont Cinema has been an important part of Aberdeen’s cultural life.
Its closure in 2022 was a real loss to the city, but the campaign to refurbish and reopen this much-loved independent cinema is gathering support.
The Belmont Community Cinema team is working to bring the venue back into use as a vibrant cultural destination, and fundraising events like this are an important part of that effort.
As Aberdeen musicians, we know how much independent cultural venues matter to the life of our city.
We’re delighted that Iron Broo can contribute to the fundraising effort by doing what we do best – bringing people together through Scottish music and dancing.
